Purpose
Use this checklist when comparing lone worker devices, apps and monitored response services from any supplier. It is independent of any specific product and does not recommend, rank or endorse any supplier. Print or copy the record below once for each supplier under consideration, so responses can be compared side by side.
How to use this tool
- Complete one copy of the record for each supplier you are seriously considering.
- Ask each question directly of the supplier's sales or account team and record their exact answer, not a general product description.
- Where a supplier cannot answer a question directly, record that as the answer. An unclear or evasive response is itself useful evidence.
- Review completed records with the manager who will own the contract, not only the person who requested the technology.
Verification record
| Verification point | Supplier's response |
|---|---|
| Current product range, exact models and compatible accessories for the specific worker roles you need to cover | |
| Live pricing, minimum contract term and total cost including any device, SIM, platform or support fees | |
| Monitoring centre accreditation (for example BS 8484) and evidence it currently applies to the product being quoted, not just the supplier in general | |
| Stated response times and the exact escalation route to police or other emergency services, including any conditions that must be met | |
| Network and connectivity coverage for the actual buildings, sites and travel routes your staff work in | |
| How location, audio and incident data is retained, accessed and protected, and whether that meets your organisation's data protection obligations | |
| Onboarding and staff training support, and how practice activations or false alarms are handled without discouraging genuine use | |
| Contract flexibility: adding or removing users, ending the contract, and what happens to service and data if the product is discontinued |
Decision summary
Record which supplier record best matches the organisation's confirmed risk assessment, budget and staff working patterns, and who signed off the decision.
Governance note
This tool supports procurement due diligence. It does not replace the organisation's own risk assessment, data protection review or procurement policy. Safety Solutions Training Ltd is an independent training provider and has no commercial relationship with any lone worker technology supplier.
